I believe creativity is the key to happiness. Children should be encouraged at every opportunity to express themselves creatively.

I work mainly in primary schools with 7 to 11 year olds. I also run after school art clubs and do workshops in all sorts of media for arts weeks, and special experiences for the children. I can also deliver staff training for non-art specialists for example to enable them to get more from children's observational drawing.

Away from the rows of desks and chairs in a formal classroom, an art room has the ability to change a child's state of mind. They relax, can move around the room, chat, become absorbed, forget squabbles, co-operate, share equipment and ideas, laugh, cry, cope with a disaster and learn to repair it.
