The clothing pieces are concerned with the balancing point between comfort and constraint, and how I consider parents over-protecting their children to the point at which they are unable to function properly in the adult world.

The white items are found pieces of vintage clothing with embroidered text. Most of the text I use I have written myself. Where I have used other people's words I have credited them. Sometimes the text chooses the item, sometimes the other way around. These items are usually obsessively stitched, to emphasise the obsession written about. They are very worn, thin and fragile.

The photos of door and wall are of an installation I did for the Junction Festival of Contemporary Arts in Wolverhampton in September 2011

The more recent items of children's clothes have lost text, and gained shadows. 

I also include a link to Lullaby. This usually sits alone as a sound piece, so just close your eyes, or look away and ignore the video element!
